Our 2024 CSA Offerings
This year we are excited to offer more options for our customers to customize their CSA subscriptions to fit their needs.
However, we unfortunately will be offering fewer chances for delivery. As much as we love to bring produce direct to consumers, we lack a delivery van and can only fit so much into our vehicle. We also want to encourage more people to come and visit the farm and are planning to host volunteer days, U-pick events, and farm tastings.
The below options will allow for you to choose your own adventure and get a little more of the things you like and use most in your kitchen. We want you to enjoy what you get and feel confident that you can cook with our ingredients.
The Basic Box - Perfect for the everyday person who likes to cook, but doesn’t live to eat. Sometimes you just want the classics.
Typical offering includes: 1-2 herbs, a green of some kind, potatoes, carrots, onions, garlic, and your regular run of the mill varieties you are used to seeing in your grocery store. No funny business.
The Culinary Box - This box is for the adventurous. The ones who love to cook and try new recipes. People who see a new vegetable or fruit they don’t know yet and say - YES, I’d like to try that!
In this box you will regularly find the basic options above as well as: 2-3 kinds of herbs, 2 varieties of greens, hot and sweet peppers, and some heirloom or rare varieties that may be new to you.
Both of these options will have two different sizes:
Half Share (Feeds 1-2 people)
Full Share (Feeds 3-5 people)
Note: If you joined us last year, our crates were overflowing with goodies and we tended to give most people what would typically be considered a full share. Serving sizes will be more consistent this year and not as robust.
Boxes are available for pick-up on the farm bi-weekly.
If you are unable to make it to the farm - monthly delivery options may be negotiated for an additional fee. If you cannot come to the farm that regularly, we will also offer the option to receive (1) box a month (instead of doing boxes bi-weekly) since we are making fewer deliveries.
There will be more flexibility on dates for pickups as we will be available on the farm more often.
City deliveries will occur once a month and require group drop-off locations.
5-10 boxes from June through October - You choose.
There is also the option to simply buy single boxes of produce/bouquets at a time if a subscription feels like too much of a commitment.
Flower subscriptions are blooming!
We will continue to offer bouquets this year. Also happening this season, are some U-pick events where you can come out to the farm and build your own, in addition to a dried flower workshop this fall! Our spring bulbs are already emerging and we can’t wait to bring you beautiful blooms month after month.
We want you to explore and see the beauty of the Midwest.
Less than 1% of Illinois’ natural prairies exist today because of destruction from humans and industrial agriculture. We are fortunate enough to be located in the middle of one of the best restored prairies the state has to offer. We encourage you to check out a nearby hike, take a stroll in the prairie, or come sit in the garden and enjoy some small bites. We would love to show you the magic this land has to offer.
